Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of the Maintenance Manager is to perform and/or
• arrange for repairs and maintenance to plant machinery, mobile equipment, and buildings.
• Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain & repair and/or install fixed and mobile plant equipment.
• Maintain & repair some building systems such as doors, docks, sump pumps, and lighting.
• Manage maintenance activities performed by other workers onsite.
• Fabricate & build some equipment and parts.
• Assist with budgeting for repairs and capital maintenance.
• Maintain records and maintenance history of all equipment.
• Maintain inventory of critical parts and supplies for maintenance purposes.
• Order parts and supplies from vendors as required.
• Contributes ideas in improving productivity results.
• Provide site supervision for ongoing capital expenditure projects.
• Communicate with the engineering team to provide required site information.
• General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Heavy industrial experience would be considered an asset.
• Minimum 5 years experience in plant maintenance
• Experienced in welding and fabrication
• Experienced repairing/maintaining plant equipment such as pumps, mixers, mills, conveyors & drags,
• bucket elevators, augers, gearboxes, electric motors, compressed air & hydraulic systems.
• Experience working with manual & PLC-controlled processing systems.
• Previous experience & certification operating forklifts, Aerial Work Platform, or other heavy equipment as an asset
• Basic knowledge of CMMS software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience and training in working at heights.
• Familiar with confined space and lockout tag-out procedures
• Familiarity/previous training with GMP/HACCP protocols an asset
• Detail oriented and able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
• Superior communication, time management & organizational skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Must be able to climb, lift, and do other physically demanding tasks indoors and outdoors in all.
