Journeyman Fabricator/Welder

We are currently searching for a Red Seal Fabricator/Welder for our Victoria B.C. welding and machine shop. We offer a jobbing service to the automotive, heavy equipment, construction and marine industries.

Typical Tasks:

• Maintenance welding work on heavy equipment
• Fabrication and welding miscellaneous metals and structural steel
• Welding cylinder rod eyes, tube ends and driveshaft tubes
• Building up worn shafts and bores for machine shop
• Assisting with installation of large machinery in industrial plants
• Welding service to mechanical contractors for pipe and boiler work
• SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, TIG and silver soldering for general public
• Flame cutting, carbon arc gouging and plasma cutting

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Qualification as a fabricator or welder
• Minimum Grade 12 education
• CWB Qualification tickets
• PWP7 Qualification for pressure pipe and boiler work
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Valid BC Drivers license
• Ability to trouble shoot and solve problems

Trade rate is $44.00 per hour plus benefits
