Job Description:

This is a Senior Design Engineering position with responsibilities to design and launch new products by coordinating efforts with a global team. The career path could possibly lead to an Engineering Manager position.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for new product designs and launching them into production
  • Create marketing/engineering proposal concepts
  • Coordinate a team of engineers in supporting the design, development and testing of new products
  • Resolve engineering and design related issues as they may occur
  • Check, approve and process drawings, BOMs, Item Masters
  • Perform mechanical simulations and tolerance analyses
  • Ensure designs meet both price, performance, manufacturability requirements
  • Interface with other departments to make sure that collaborative teams are working to a common goal

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years engineering experience
  • Working experience in 3D CAD systems – Solidworks or ProE
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Good verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate a global team in support of product development
  • Able to work a flexible schedule

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of connectors or small mechanical/electrical parts
  • 1-3 years of Project Management skills
  • Exposure to small metal parts stamping and moulding
  • Proven tolerance analysis skills
  • Legally able to travel in N/A, Europe and Asia
  • FEA, simulation and modeling skills
  • P Eng
