We are currently looking to hire for a Senior Construction Project Manager in Saskatoon, SK. We are looking for someone comfortable with both project management and construction management duties.

This job is located in Lanigan, Saskatchewan.
If the candidate does not live within 1 hour travel to Lanigan, Saskatchewan. relocation would be necessary.

The person in this role will be responsible for managing medium to large-scale projects (~$15M), and have overall accountability for project scope, deliverables, cost, schedule, quality and resources. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all project constraints, and by providing guidance, direction, and coaching to the staff directly reporting to them on projects.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for all phases of a construction project, including safety, quality, procurement, subcontracting, developing execution planning and ensuring that specifications are being followed, and that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

In conjunction with project team, the Project Manager will work to coordinate selection of vendors and contractors, bid review and approvals, and overseeing project work.

This role will work closely with a construction manager and may act as a construction manager during project execution.

 Main Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate with the Project Directors/GM, Manager and the client’s CM teams to develop and document the overall project execution strategy and procedures
  • Coordinate with other project team members actions needed to meet client requirements
  • Develop a cost-effective construction execution plan and schedule for completion of project
  • Assist in the development of bid / construction schedules and estimates
  • Assist in the selection of subcontractors working on various phases of the project
  • Oversee the performance of all trade contractors and review engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
  • Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses
  • Reviewing and approving project control reports
  • Reporting to owners about progress and any necessary modifications 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of construction/project management experience preferably in underground mining
  • Graduate degree in one of the following disciplines:Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Construction Technology or equivalent certifications
  • Underground supervision certification would be an asset.
  • PMP designation or enrollment would be an asset.
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Computer competent with knowledge of scheduling software, spreadsheet and data based applications
