We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing modular assemblies and complex stampings for body-in-white, drive-train, interior and seating applications for the automotive industry. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team at our Brampton, ON facility.

QUALITY ENGINEER

General Purpose of the Job:

Problem investigation, reporting, communication and Customer and Supplier liaison

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Customer portals and assist with responses through Customer portal
  • Perform CPK studies
  • Problem follow-up with Customers and Suppliers
  • New program and APQP support
  • Internal problem investigation with team and communication with other shifts
  • Maintain inspection stations
  • Quality studies and analysis
  • Fill-in for Auditors that are off
  • Reject tag and quarantine log maintenance
  • PFD, CP and PFMEA updates
  • Prepare and submit customer PPAP’s
  • Mig weld penetration
  • Other duties as required in the QA Department

 Reports:

 The incumbent is responsible to complete Quality reports and Customer responses

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language Skills 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

Reasoning Ability 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

Computer Skills 

Organization and basic office skills, including computer, data entry, and word processing skills as necessary. 

Other Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to problem solve and make improvement recommendations
  • Quality assurance experience 

Decision Making Authority 

Ability to make a decision on Product conformance.
