Controls Engineer

Mitrex, an Integrated solar and construction solution provider is looking for an experienced, Controls Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, troubleshooting manufacturing systems, equipment selection, SCADA scope design & implementation, equipment maintenance, operations procedure design, and operator training.

COMPETENCIES

  • Electrical Engineering Degree with 3-5 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience in design and maintenance of electrical power distribution and industrial instrumentation and process control systems
  • Electrical System design experience for Power Distribution, Variable Speed Motor Control, PLC's and experience with electrical construction design and electrical codes
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with the maintenance of a wide variety of process and facility equipment
  • Experience with MS Office (working knowledge in Word, Outlook, Access, Excel), Statistical Analysis, SCADA skills are an asset.
  • Expertise and programming capability in computer-based process control and management information systems. [ PLC’s and PC’s]
  • Ability to interpret Process System P&IDs and Electrical drawings
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot problems with equipment and processes
  • Flexible, self-motivated, innovative, and able to function in an unstructured environment, and willing to work as required to address plant production priorities
  • Demonstrated concern for standards combined with an understanding of ANSI and CSA codes
  • Project Engineering experience is an asset

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and implement processes to improve plant reliability, productivity, optimize and de-bottleneck processes
  • Define and develop specifications, statement of work, and procurement of equipment to ensure that performance output meet all criteria for a robust manufacturing process
  • Design electrical and control systems
  • Provide input into planning and scheduling for shutdowns and turnarounds
  • Gather data and conduct experiments to optimize process parameters, improve process and product, and develop new processes products
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel through the development and preparation of operating and maintenance procedures and practices
  • Update Plant Manager regarding departmental, organizational, or business issues as related to assigned projects or responsibilities and progress by written reports
  • Mistake and error-proof manufacturing and assembly processes.
